Turmeric, ginger, and beets have superpowers when it comes to easing inflammation. According to research, gingerol, a molecule present in ginger, has antioxidant characteristics. This reduces oxidative stress and lowers the production of damage-causing free radicals in your body. Beets contain pigments called betalains, which have powerful antioxidant effects and can help reduce inflammation.

Ingredients:
Pineapple Turmeric Smoothie
1 cup Dairy-free milk
2 cups Frozen pineapple chunks
1 large Banana
1 tablespoon Fresh turmeric, grated (or 1 teaspoon ground turmeric)
1 teaspoon Fresh ginger, grated (or 1/3 teaspoon ground ginger)
Apple Carrot Beet Smoothie
1 Red beet, cut into 2-inch chunks
1 Apple, cut into 2-inch chunks
3 Carrots, cut into 2-inch chunks
1 Orange, juiced
2 tablespoons Fresh ginger, peeled
1 cup Cold water
Directions:
- Pineapple Turmeric Smoothie: Add all of the ingredients to a blender and blend for 30 seconds on high, or until creamy.
- Apple Carrot Beet Smoothie: Place all ingredients in the pitcher of a high-powered blender, and blend until smooth, about 1 to 2 minutes. Use the tamper if needed. Pour the smoothie into glasses and enjoy right away, or chill in the fridge to enjoy later.
