Jim Parsons character Sheldon will not be kicked out by newly engaged couple Leonard and Penny after he returns from his sudden trip.

Sheldon ends up stranded in Arizona after getting on the train, robbed of all of his belongings. Leonard and Amy journey to pick him up.

There was some uncertainty about whether Sheldon would be kicked out of his and Leonard’s place, but showrunner Steve Molaro has clarified that he won’t be for now.

“As of now, Leonard and Penny are not in a rush to get married so the living arrangements as we know them will stay put. We’re not interested in making drastic changes to the fabric of the show. Leonard and Sheldon not living together would be a drastic change. At some point down the line we may experiment with it and see how it goes and how it affects Sheldon,” he told The Hollywood Reporter.

“Leonard and Penny also don’t want to deal with the headache of putting Sheldon out because they know it will only make their lives harder. That may be one of the reasons that they’re also not in a rush to the altar.”

THR noted that the couple is handling Sheldon “with kid gloves.”

“It shows how weirdly co-dependent Leonard and Sheldon are. I don’t think you marry Leonard without kind of marrying Sheldon,” Molaro added, laughing.

Meanwhile, the official word from CBS revealed that after Sheldon gets back he'll be teaching a class--which Howard surprises everyone by taking. Pictures from episode 2, which also airs on September 23, indicate that Sheldon is not happy about it.

And in episode 3, Leonard and Penny try to prove Sheldon wrong after he says that he and Amy are a “superior couple.”
