August 10, 2019 Updated: August 16, 2019

Four standing ovations from the America’s Got Talent judges? It’s almost unheard of! But that’s what happened when French twins and amazing magicians Tony and Jordan concluded their mind-blowing audition act. Judge Simon Cowell, in particular, is a notoriously tough nut to crack.

So how did Tony and Jordan do it?

“My name is Tony,” the young magician says to Simon as his audition begins. “I’m 21, and I’m French. I want to show to America my kind of magic!” Simon then prudently asks whether Tony’s parents support his choice to pursue magic.

“Honestly?” Tony pauses briefly. “They hate magic.”

Explaining that his parents had wanted him to become a doctor or a salesman “or something like this,” he says, “like a normal job, the passionate young magician remains determined to prove the naysayers wrong.

“Today I want to prove to you, and prove to my parents, that I can become a magician,” he says.

The audience applauds nervously, unsure of what to expect. And sure, magic is something of a lost art in the 21st century! As technology surpasses our wildest expectations, there’s less and less room for the amazing sleights of hand that used to take our breath away.

But as soon as Tony’s routine begins, it’s clear to see what the talented magician is up to; technology meets illusion in an amazing sketch that uses a big screen to introduce the other people in his act. First up, Tony’s twin brother, Jordan!

Tony steps behind his big screen only to appear on the screen milliseconds later. Next, Tony’s on-screen image splits in two; at first, it looks like an illusion, but it quickly becomes apparent that this is a two-man act. The audience (and judges) shriek when they realize that Tony is a twin!

The talented pair then cruises through a series of awesome illusions using real, tangible props and correlating images on the screen, one of which is a girl that the magicians interact with in more and more complex ways.

Tony and Jordan’s pièce de résistance comes when they cover their on-screen female companion with a blanket, only to drop the blanket to reveal that she is a real girl. But that’s not the end; another flick of the blanket and her twin appears!

Two sets of twins; now that’s magic in itself!

The French twins have the judges’ panel grinning from ear to ear and quickly rising to give the incredible young men a standing ovation. Who could resist?

The audience certainly can’t! They explode into wild applause, and the judges, Howie Mandel, Mel B, Heidi Klum, and Simon Cowell, all vote an emphatic “Yes.”

Check out Tony and Jordan’s jaw-dropping “digital magic” act for yourself if you haven’t seen it yet. It may come as no surprise that the magicians’ carefully curated magical masterpiece made it to the final six acts of AGT‘s season 12; they were eventually eliminated in the Judge Cuts.

However, it hasn’t held them back. Today, Tony and Jordan, or “Les French Twins,” as they are professionally known, are in high demand. They perform all over the world and document their jet-setting lives on their popular Instagram page.
