With people scurrying about, looking intently at departure boards or just stuck to their seats when a flight is delayed; scenes such as these at airports don’t come across as pretty. But one father shared his heartwarming experience with the world as he saw this differently.
Kevin Armentrout, an author and public speaker, was traveling with his wife and 16-month-old daughter from Las Vegas to San Diego. They met a man at the airport gate, and just then, Armentrout’s daughter, Carter Jean, walked up to him to say “hi.”

“I just put her down, let her walk and followed behind her but I was anxious about her touching people’s stuff and not everyone wants a kid slamming into their knees,” Armentrout told GMA. “But as she approached him, he said, ‘You want to sit next to me?’”
The little girl agreed, and the two were caught in an engaging conversation about Snoopy.
Last night, while waiting to board our plane, @_carterjean_ was being her usual inquisitive self wanting to meet and say…
It was not an exchange that would last only a few minutes, as Armentrout wrote on Facebook: “He pulled out his tablet and showed her how to draw with it, they watched cartoons together, and she offered him snacks. This wasn’t a short little exchange, this was 45 minutes.”

“It just warmed my heart a little,” the stranger told GMA. “[She] just wanted to share her food with somebody, you know? That was very touching, and it was just fascinating to see. I get a kick out of young kids who are just growing and showing love.”
“There were a few moments she screamed and tried to get into his work calendar, but he couldn’t care less,” Armentrout said.
The fact that the stranger was so kind and welcoming to his daughter was an endearing sight.
The act of compassion clearly melted the father’s heart, as he wrote: “Watching them in that moment, I couldn’t help but think, different genders, different races, different generations, and the best of friends. This is the world I want for her.”
He also added that he wanted his daughter’s life to be “full of moments like this.”

Ever since the dad shared the heartwarming encounter on Facebook, it has gone super viral, racking up over 200,000 likes and 213,000 shares.
Armentrout even made his Facebook post public, as he wanted the stranger to know that his gesture was simply priceless.
The stranger was later identified as Joseph Wright, a field sales manager at Samsung in Oklahoma.
One user commented, “This little angel w a [sic] pure heart also knew this bigger angel had a pure heart too.”
“Joe is the man! Truly good at heart. Always there for everyone and lives to make others smile!” another chimed.
A third one added: “Joseph Pat Wright has always been a kind and loving soul. I am not the least surprised that he was so generous with his time and attention.”
At the end of the post, the father left a heartfelt note thanking Wright.
It read as follows: “Joseph from @samsungus in Oklahoma, if this should happen to find you. Thank you for showing my daughter what kindness and compassion looks like. Continue to shine your light in the world.”
