The Cleveland Police Department said at about 12:15 a.m. on Saturday, 18-year-old Jaylen Latrell Plummer entered the residence and stabbed and killed 62-year-old Diane Madison, who was his grandmother, according to Cleveland.com.
Madison is the mother of Michael Madison, 41, a notorious serial killer who killed three women and has been on death row since 2016.
The three children injured in the attack include Plummer’s 10-year-old sister, his 12-year-old brother, and his 10-year-old cousin. One of the children was Michael’s child.
Two of the children were able to escape to a neighbor’s home who called the police, reported Fox News.

“Knowing that the person is in custody, it does make me feel safer,” Denise Mixon who lives in the neighborhood told News19.
“I would feel safer, knowing he’s not running around. Not knowing the reason, why, makes it a little unnerving, but knowing they do have a person in custody makes me feel better.”

Michael Madison’s Conviction
Michael Madison killed 38-year-old Angela Deskins, 28-year-old Shetisha Sheeley, and 18-year-old Shirellda Terry in July 2013, and their bodies were found in plastic bags near where he lived in Cleveland, according to Fox8.
Fox News reported that Michael told authorities that he strangled two women, but he does not remember killing the third one.
Cleveland.com in an earlier report mentioned that he stored the dead bodies in plastic garbage bags, one in his garage, the second in bushes outside, and the third in the basement of a vacant home nearby, so he could keep an eye on all three from the balcony of his apartment.
According to media reports, Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Timothy J. McGinty said Michael was inspired by another local serial killer, Anthony Sowell, also known as the Cleveland Strangler, who was convicted for killing 11 women. Their dead bodies were found in his home in 2009.
During Michael’s trial, the defense informed the court that Diane Madison was an extremely abusive mother. According to Cleveland.com, the mother beat Michael as a child with an extension cord and burnt him with hot water. She also forced food down his throat and made him vomit.
One of Diane’s boyfriends beat the child so hard that he lost hearing in one ear.
Michael was sentenced to death for killing the three women on June 2, 2016, according to an earlier report by Cleveland.com.
The serial killer is currently being held in the Chillicothe Correctional Institution and is waiting on the Ohio Supreme Court for his mandatory appeal for all capital punishment convictions, according to Cleveland.com.
