My kids are driving me wild! School is closed because of the snow and all they’ve been doing is fighting and making a mess. We are completely snowbound. I can’t even send them outside to the backyard to play because it’s too cold. Any advice?? (My boys are 6, 7, and 9).
Snowbound and going nuts,
My heart goes out to you. Being snowbound with young children isn’t easy, especially when they’re active boys. I suggest that you set up a treasure hunt for them.
Leave clues to the next object and tell them that if they work as a team (and get along!), you’ll buy a movie on pay per view when they’re done.
After running around for an hour or two looking for clues, they’ll be ready to park themselves on the sofa and watch some t.v. If not, have them work together to organize a treasure hunt for you, or their dad when he comes home for work.
Another suggestion is to take some fresh clean snow from the backyard and let them make snow cones with sugar water and food coloring. You can also look on the internet for additional suggestions to occupy them (and keep you sane).
All my best,
P.S. Readers, please comment on this post with suggestions for this snowbound family.
