On Thursday, March 28, 2019, Gellar and Blair donned matching iconic Mickey Mouse headbands and threw themselves into a day of whimsical fun. Blair’s 7-year-old son Arthur sat happily on her lap, as Gellar’s 9-year-old daughter Charlotte and 6-year-old son Rocky followed close by.

Gellar, 41, is married to actor Freddie Prinze Jr.

Blair, 46, has been coping with the devastating diagnosis of multiple sclerosis (MS), a chronic disease that causes problems with vision, balance, and muscle control, since August of 2018. Blair opened up to Good Morning America about her diagnosis, saying that she cried “tears of knowing that I now had to give in to a body that had loss of control.”

But there was “some relief in that,” the actress continued. “I’ll be able to do something.”

And she’s been “doing” ever since. Blair looked fit, strong, and determined as she generously switched places to let her young son take a turn in the Disneyland wheelchair. Photos of the two families posted by Daily Mail show Blair smiling and laughing with her head thrown back, her health in flux but her spirits well and truly intact.

Not letting the kids have all the fun, Gellar and Blair even posed with toothy grins for a souvenir photo next to Captain Marvel. After their day out, Blair captioned a photo of herself with her son and BFF with the simple sentiment, “Love.”

Since starring in the cult classic Cruel Intentions in 1999 and the movie adaptation of Pierre Choderlos de Laclos’s 18th-century novel Les Liaisons Dangereuses, Gellar and Blair have been almost inseparable. “Something clicked with us,” Gellar told Entertainment Weekly, referencing the actresses’ first day on set. “Every big milestone in my life, whether it was my 21st birthday or Selma’s baby shower, I just can’t imagine my life without her standing next to me.”

Gellar has stayed true to her word through Blair’s fight against MS. “I will spend the rest of my life continuing to fight for you,” she posted on Instagram. “This is one of those bumps in the road, that I truly believe within the year, we will barely remember.”

“This girl. (Always my girl) is everything,” Blair responded.

Blair made the big reveal to her fans and followers on Instagram in October of 2018. “I have #multiplesclerosis,” she began. “I am disabled. I fall sometimes. I drop things. My memory is foggy. And my left side is asking for directions from a broken gps. But we are doing it.”

The stoic actress and mom has shared her tumultuous experience with the unpredictable and often debilitating condition candidly ever since. A recent video, in equal parts endearing, poignant, and funny, showcases Blair’s “solution to applying makeup with a lack of fine motor skills.” In the video, Blair’s spasmodic dysphonia (interruptions in the voice) is apparent, but her sunny disposition and irresistible laughter steal the limelight.

Blair also continues to work. She co-stars in the 2019 movie After and an upcoming drama series, Another Life.

Truly inspiring.
