For the first time since her celebrity son passed away, the grieving mother of a young comedy actor spoke out on July 20.

Mother Libby Boyce shared a very personal photo of her with her son Cameron, who played the mischievous Luke Ross on Disney’s “Jessie” television series.

“He is my compass,” Libby said on Instagram.

Cameron, 20, passed away on July 6 from what the family described to be an epilepsy condition.

“Cameron’s tragic passing was due to a seizure as a result of an ongoing medical condition,” a family spokesperson told E! News in a statement. “We are still trying to navigate our way through this extremely heart wrenching time, and continue to ask for privacy so that the family, and all who knew and loved him can grieve his loss and make arrangements for his funeral—which in and of itself, is agonizing.”

In addition to “Jessie,” the actor starred in multiple movies including the 2008 thriller “Eagle Eye,” 2010 comedy “Grown Ups,” and 2013 sequel “Grown Ups 2.”

Father Victor Boyce confirmed he has been swamped with messages of condolences and offers to assist the family.

“I’m overwhelmed with the love and support our family has received,” Victor wrote on Twitter. “It really does help to ease the pain of this nightmare I cannot wake up from, I cannot thank you guys enough.”

The mourning father previously expressed on social media that he missed Cameron “terribly.”

“My son, just hours before he was snatched from our lives,” Victor wrote on Instagram. “I hope that no one ever has to feel the agony I’m feeling but no one is immune to tragedy.”

The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner recently revealed there did not appear to be anything suspicious about Cameron’s death.

“Preliminary information suggests the death occurred under natural circumstances … [but] the final cause and manner of death will be determined at a later date,” the coroner said, according to People magazine. “An autopsy was performed and the cause and manner of death were deferred pending additional testing.”
