Most parents will agree they feel exasperated and embarrassed whenever their kid throws a tantrum in public. But one mom from Wilmington shared her beautiful encounter on Twitter after an employee at Target did something heartwarming.
One Friday in December 2018, while shopping at a Target in Wilmington, Massachusetts, Brianna Lelos experienced what many parents deem as a nightmare—a public tantrum.
As it was getting late, her daughter, Bella, likely feeling tired, started having temper tantrums and plopped herself down on the floor, in the middle of the department store.
“It was late, I’ll blame myself. We probably should have gone a little bit earlier,” Lelos later told Boston 25 news.

Just before Lelos could coax her antsy toddler into getting up from the floor, a Target employee named Lianna got down on the floor and sat with Bella to calm her down.
“She started playing with her, trying to get her to stand up and play a game,” Lelos said. “She ended up standing up for her. She was just so sweet, so kind.”
My whole heart! It takes a village! Dont judge, just help. 😁
It’s quite common for parents to receive disapproving looks from passersby when their child acts out in public.
Thus, without a doubt, Lianna’s kind gesture was a breath of fresh air. She was certainly a great help to Lelos.

“@Target thank-you for having kind, caring, humans working at your stores. It’s appreciated.”
Target’s customer service caught wind of Lelos’s post and replied to her tweet: “Thank you for reaching out to us about how we helped your #TargetLittle have a better visit.”
“We strive to provide great guest service and we are excited to hear what a great job our team member did. We will forward this awesome feedback to our Wilmington Store Leadership team.”

Even Lianna’s mom, Lynne Booth, saw Lelos’s compliment.
Booth proudly replied, “Hi EVERYBODY…that’s my daughter, LIANNA….She’s a great kid and this is how she is with all the children…even her own! Thanks for recognizing her kind heart…it means a lot to me….and her!”
Lelos couldn’t praise Lianna enough. “You are raising an amazing woman,” she went on to tell Booth.

Aside from giving a shout-out to Lianna, Lelos shared the story to spread an inspiring message.
“Be kind to others, especially moms,” she said.
Indeed, being a mother or a father, though rewarding and meaningful, can be tough and intense too. So, don’t judge, and be kind and tolerant whenever you come across a frustrated parent with a bawling child in public.
If we all try to extend our kindness to others like how Lianna did, the world would surely become a better place.
