With just about 80 employees in the obstetrics unit of the Anderson Hospital Pavilion for Women in Illinois, the staff were in for a cute surprise. Eight of their employees got pregnant within months of each other.

Obstetrician tech Stavania and obstetrician nurses Ashley, Sara, Rebecca, Gwen, Susan, Britaney, and Michelle gave birth within a span of five months of one another.

“We all started kind of announcing and it was one after the other,” Michelle Embick, one of the nurses, told InsideEdition.com. “It kind of snowballed from there. None of us knew that the other was trying.”

The bundles of joy were delivered from August to December 2018. Seven of the eight nurses took to the internet again, and this time, they posed with their adorable babies.

The hospital shared the photo on their Facebook page and the caption read: “The Pavilion for Women had their own baby boom going…and it exploded! We are loving all of our babies! The Elite 8 are here and ready to rule the world! Welcome to the world, little ones! We LOVE YOU!”

The baby boom at the small hospital has clearly brought joy to one and all. The nurses revealed that the department, which was already like a family, feels more close-knit now.

“We were all going through what our patients were going through,” Michelle told ABC News. “It was just another level that we could bond with them.”

Also, when the nurses were pregnant, they bonded over cravings, and now as mothers, they have one thing in common—lack of sleep.

The kids have been dubbed the “Elite 8,” and the numbers on the back of their tiny shirts indicate the order in which the babies were born. One of the babies missed the group photo due to an illness of a sibling, according to ABC News.

But overall, the little ones have been reported to be happy and healthy.

Out of the eight, three of them are boys and the rest are girls. While two of them are named Charlotte Rose, the others are called Anna, Reese, Logan, Holden, Daniel, and Jewel (missing in the picture).

All the girls are seen wearing outfits with pink motifs and headbands. The boys, on the other hand, wore outfits with blue motifs and denim-style pants.

The elated mothers simply can’t wait to see their children grow up together.

“It’s been a lot of fun. When we took the pictures, that was the first time all of us were together since having the babies. It was fun to let all the babies sit together and play with each other,” Sara said.

Among all the nurses, Michelle’s journey to motherhood was particularly notable. She had been trying to get pregnant, and when she found out about a couple of girls getting pregnant, it gave her the hope that it would happen for her too.

“So when I finally got that positive pregnancy test I was just over the moon and it made it even more special that I get to share it with so many other people,” she said.

With a lot of love and attention pouring in on social media, the “Elite 8” have already taken their first steps to stardom. With more play dates along the way, the moms and their babies are going to have their fair share of cute moments.
