The PC version of “Grand Theft Auto V” has been listed on Amazon’s German website.
The website says that game will run on “Windows 7 / Vista” and says one can “be notified via email when this item becomes available.” There’s no date or price offered for the game.
Rockstar has not said whether it would release “GTA V”–which has generated more than $1 billion in sales–for the PC, but there have been a number of indicators suggesting it will be.
Earlier this week, Amazon France posted a product listing for the PC version of the game, reported GameSpot, which noted the move suggests that Rockstar might make an announcement in the near future.
Amazon France, as GameSpot pointed out, first posted listings for games including “Ratchet & Clank,” “Splinter Cell,” and “Prince of Persia,” as well as “Call of Duty: Black Ops II.”
The game will be selling for 59.99 euros, according to both sites.
In 2008, Grand Theft Auto IV was launched in April for consoles before it was ported to the PC later that year.
Last year, EuroGamer reported that the PC version of “GTA V” will come out in “early 2014.”
“[PC] gamers are preparing their systems for a strong roster of games coming this fall, including blockbuster franchises such as Call of Duty: Ghosts, Grand Theft Auto 5 and Assassin’s Creed 4,” Chris Evenden, who is Nvidia’s senior director of investor relations, said during a conference call in August, according to the website.
Thiago Diniz, whose an executive with Brazilian retailer Nuveem, said “GTA V” would be released March 12. “I see no problem talking. I think until now been confirmed. Is scheduled for March on PC, if I’m not mistaken, for the 12th,” reads a translated statement he sent to Brazilian website Codigo Fonte.
PC Gamer a few days ago reported that a 150-page bug log that was leaked online lists a PC version and DirectX 11 effects. It shows more than 170 references to PC development bugs and has notes on DX11 support.
Despite a petition for a PC version of the game getting more than 650,000 signatures on Change.org, RockStar has not confirmed the existence of a PC version of the game. Currently, “GTA V” is available for the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3, but it is unclear if the game will arrive on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 consoles.
“GTA V,” which is RockStar’s most popular game to date, was the fastest-selling game in history when it was released last summer, generating more than $1 billion in sales in only a few days.
