Girl’s Incurable Brain Tumor Miraculously Vanishes, Parents Say ‘God Healed Roxli’

One Texas family’s prayers were answered when their daughter’s rare and inoperable brain tumor disappeared mysteriously for no known reason. The astonishing turn of events left doctors baffled.

When a KVUE reporter met up with 11-year-old Roxli Doss of Hays County, Roxli was doing what she always loves to do: horseback riding.

The active Roxli was riding so skillfully that you wouldn’t have guessed that just a few months earlier, in June, she had been diagnosed with a brain tumor, or diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG), after she started having headaches, nausea, and double vision.

As stated on Boston’s Children Hospital website, DIPG is a highly aggressive and difficult-to-treat tumor found at the base of the brain.

“It was the worst news we could have had,” Roxli’s father, Scott Doss, said.

“At Dell Children’s, Texas Children’s, at Dana-Farber, at John Hopkins, and MD Anderson, all agreed it was DIPG.”

Roxli’s condition was “very rare … It is a devastating disease. You have decreased ability to swallow, sometimes vision loss, decreased ability to talk, eventually difficulty with breathing,” Dr. Virginia Harrod, one of the girl’s doctors from Dell Children’s Medical Center, said.

After 2+ months of fervent and faithful prayers for healing from this community and across the country, GOD HAS ANSWERED…

Speaking to HuffPost, Dr. Harrod added, “We don’t have a cure. This is considered a terminal diagnosis.”

Still, Roxli underwent 11 weeks of radiation to treat her high-grade brain tumor, which was located “in the back of her brain and pushing her spinal chord,” according to her family’s GoFundMe page.

In August 2018, the Doss family organized a benefit for Roxli in Buda, and members of the community turned up and rallied behind them.

Ascertaining they might lose their daughter to the cancer, all Scott Doss and his wife, Gena, could do was pray—ask God for a miracle.

“The doctors guide us, but really the true guidance that we’re looking for is from God because that’s who we need our help from right now, and we’re really just praying for a miracle,” said Scott.

Beads of Courage…. Rox was excited today to get to pick all her beads!!!Each represents something different… radiation, mri, blood draws, hospital stays, etc…. Her story is good, God is good!!!

And to their utter amazement, and the doctors’ complete shock, their prayers were answered.

The girl was declared cancer-free after an MRI scan revealed that the tumor had totally vanished on Sept. 10, 2018.

Doctors were stunned by the extraordinary development and had no explanation as to how or why the girl’s tumor disappeared without a trace.

“When I first saw Roxli’s MRI scan, it was actually unbelievable. The tumor is undetectable on the MRI scan, which is really unusual,” Dr. Harrod said.

“Doctors from Austin, Houston & Boston have discussed in great length Roxli’s AMAZING mri scan!!” Gena Doss shared on the Facebook page Roxli’s Rox Star Benefit.

It goes without saying that Roxli’s parents were relieved to hear the good news. They believe “God healed Roxli” and are thanking Him every day for the miracle that cured their daughter’s potentially deadly childhood cancer.

“A Miracle!!” Roxli’s parents wrote on CaringBridge.org. “We all walked out in shock even though we had been begging, praying, asking and believing. Thank you Jesus just wasn’t enough to say.”

“God is using precious Roxli as a vessel for His mighty power! REVIVAL is springing up in hearts everywhere!” Gena Doss wrote.

As for Roxli, she penned a poem in school thanking everyone who offered her support during the difficult times, which read:

To everyone Thank you. You were kind to me, You raised money for me, You prayed for me, And you healed me. You showed the world, not all heroes wear capes.

Now, Roxli is going through precautionary treatments such as immunotherapy—a treatment that boosts the immune system to fight the cancer—so as to ensure that not one cancer cell is left in the brain.

Dr. Harrod said in a statement to Global News, “We are cautiously optimistic and will continue to monitor her on a regular basis along with the joy of celebrating in her recovery.”

Thanks to God’s miracle, Scott and Gena Doss were able to spend a joyful Christmas together with Roxli over the Holidays. And for sure, their hearts would have been filled with gratitude as they ushered in the New Year.

May Roxli continue to experience the joys of good health for many, many years to come.

Roxli’s teacher sent this to me. A poem Rox wrote. The prompt was “Not all hero’s wear capes” Our family could never thank you all enough for EVERYTHING!
