Bystanders Ignore 6 Men Harassing Mom & Daughter Until a Man Runs Over to Tackle Them

Sexual harassment happens every day in the world to women regardless of age. However, not everyone who witnesses it is willing to step forward to help, especially if the situation looks dangerous. Fortunately for one mother and daughter, a young man came to their assistance when they found themselves surrounded by six big men.

In November 2017, Andreas Neuman, from Sweden, was waiting at a public train platform to go home when he saw a disturbing scene—two women surrounded and harassed by six men.

Neuman, who had just finished a hockey game, noticed that the men had formed a closed circle around a mother and her 15-year-old daughter, and he could see that the two women were getting  uncomfortable.

“When the women tried to get out of the ring the guys pushed them back in again,” he told Swedish newspaper Arbetarbladet.

Neuman then saw the men making unwanted advances—one man rolled up a newspaper and tapped the women on their behinds. Seeing this made Neuman furious, and he knew he had to do something even though he was outnumbered.

“I ran towards them and I was tackled into the ring,” Neuman recalled. “Things got messy and I fell down on the ground with one of the guys. Then they all just ran off.”

It was a precarious moment. And although the six men were bigger in size than Neuman, that did not deter him from doing the right thing. Fortunately, everything turned out well and no one was seriously harmed.

Though Neuman managed to save the two women, he was shocked and annoyed that other bystanders did not step in to help.

“I think it was disgusting that people did not intervene,” he said.

Neuman is right. It’s not uncommon to hear of strangers watching idly while someone is getting harassed or bullied. Perhaps they were thinking “It’s none of my business.”

But what if the situation were turned around and you were the one in trouble? Wouldn’t you hope for a good Samaritan to step in too? Now there’s some food for thought.
