Amanda Bynes is apparently under treatment for a “severe mental illness,” it was reported Thursday. The troubled child actress was photographed being wheeled into a facility with her head covered in a white sheet.

TMZ reported that Bynes is suffering from “schizophrenic tendencies,” according to a psychiatric facility. She is being treated at a facility in Ventura, Calif.

Bynes remains under involuntary hold after she allegedly tried to start a fire in a woman’s driveway.

TMZ said the actress acts relatively normal for as long as 10 hours at a time but then turns incoherent and acts wildly.

In the latest incident, a witness who called 911 said he saw Bynes with a can of gasoline and he was concerned it would explode.

Andrew Liverpool, the man, told the Los Angeles Times he saw “this girl lying down here with her left pant leg on fire and there is this gas can right here and it is trailing fire.”

Bynes’ parents visited the 27-year-old as they are seeking to get conservatorship against her.
