Today the league announced that Dallas Mavericks forward Dirk Nowitzki will represent the Western Conference as a reserve in the 61st NBA All-Star Game.

This will mark Nowitzki’s 11th consecutive All-Star appearance—more times than any other player in franchise history.

“I am really excited to make the All-Star-Team this year. It is a privilege to represent the Mavericks organization this last decade. It was a tough road getting back to full health for me,” stated Nowitzki after receiving the notice of the selection.

In 23 games this season, Nowitzki has scored an team-high average of 18.3 points to go along with 6.1 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 32 minutes of play per game. The 14-year pro is shooting 46.7% from the field and 88.2% from the free throw line.

The NBA All-Star game is on Sunday February 26, 2012, at Amway Center in Orlando Florida, home of the Orlando Magic.
